Key:
T= Teacher's similar expectations to student
S= Student's similar expectation to teacher
Previously in a paper I wrote, I explained that in order to maintain a positive interpersonal
relationship between a student and a teacher expectations need to be put in
place and maintained. Cooper and Simonds state that, “ certain teacher/student
expectations are recommended for an effective learning experience. Without
expectations teachers would not be effective.” Establishing a good rapport with your students is essential
to the success of the communication lines between the teacher and student.
However, teachers often have different expectations than the students, and for
this reason it is imperative to possess exceptional communication skills in
order for both teacher and students achievement. Without a solid interpersonal relationship between a teacher and a student, expectations would be difficult to meet and the educational field would be severely limited (DeGennaro, 2012)
