Nonverbal communication is vital towards the student -teacher relationship, in conveys the full meaning of the words that are being expressed and allows students to feel a deeper connected to the information that is being presented (Cooper & Simonds, 2011).

Automatically when one thinks of verbal communication one thinks of what is said, the words that come out of an individuals mouth. As stated by Cooper and Simonds (2011), " verbal communication takes into account the effect that words have on your students and will affect your ability to teach competently".  Without verbal communication teaching would be incomplete. Students would have a difficult time fully understanding the information and would not have the ability to ask questions for clarification.
